​Jo Kavanagh is an Irish artist, a graduate of The National College of Art and Design, Dublin. She is currently pursuing doctoral studies on interpersonal communication through somatic art, particularly olfactory art, in the Dept. of Philosophy (Art and Culture) at The National University of Galway. Jo's practice researches ideas of rawness, blood, staining, women, affect and the body. Her latest work discusses the viscerality of being a woman, drawing on ideas of fluidity, containment and leakage. Jo's work includes written, oral, olfactory and visual forms of expression and communication.
